Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman Thursday said that some points of the United States new Afghan policy might have negative impact on Pakistan.
The FO spokesman Abdul Basit said this at a weekly briefing here.
He said the war cannot be won only through use of force, and that Pakistan does not want the situation in Afghanistan to aggravate.
The spokesman said the predator attacks are creating problems in the ongoing war against terrorism.
It is important at this stage to win people’s hearts, he said, terming it essential for US to hold talks with Pakistan.
Abdul Basit said it appears that India is not serious in rooting out the scourge of terrorism. It is futile to have dialogue with India if the it is not ready to demonstrate solemnity, he added.
“India is well-aware of its involvement in the terrorist activities in Balochistan and FATA,” he maintained, adding, “Pakistan is in possession of its evidence.” Pakistan, he said, is a responsible country and will present this evidence at an appropriate forum.
