Indian film actress Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu was detained at Mumbai International Airport and immediately released after paying Rs. 10, 000 in taxes on Thursday (26-May-2011).

Bipasha was stopped by customs officials on arrival from Pattaya. She was asked to pay appropriate customs duty for goods she was carrying.

The actress seems to be becoming controversy's child. First her break-up with John Abraham made headlines; this was followed by the alleged sex talk captured on tape with Amar Singh - both denied it was Bipasha Basu on the tape; and now her detention at the Mumbai airport for evading tax duties brings her back into the news.

The doe-eyed beauty, however later released a statement: "It was just a routine check-up at the airport. Many others were being checked as well. All that I have in my bags are the clothes I had shopped for and hence had excess baggage for which I paid approximately 10,000 as taxes. I think the customs team is doing an excellent job."
