Notes by Jay:
"Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed "Bertha", by jashley@deadacated.com. Completed on January 11, 2005. Under Spectral and Wav analysis, the original source was found to have excessive audio compression applied, and some type of noise reduction. By listening test only, the original source was found to have excessive high end eq applied.
Together, the audio compression and eq have resulted in a highly abrasive sound at flat setting.  The noise reduction was well done and did not affect the "Bertha" process.

Most "Bertha Remasters" are done using original, unprocessed sources.  The less that has been done to an original source the better the results. Reversing the effects of a highly processed source such as this one is very difficult. I did not expect much, but I am pleased with the results. The original track timings were used for retracking. This is the first Non GD related "Bertha Remaster". Enjoy!"
Notes by Unklejimbo/Jim Sirigos:
"I personally want to thank Jay for all his work, I sincerely hope you all enjoy this. Please compare them side by side. It is my hope, that this will not be the ONLY LZ/BERTHA remaster  I also want to thank "Your Overlord" for originally uploading/converting the boot so we can all get it."

Led Zeppelin: Earl's Court 1975 *Both Shows*Soundboard* (7CDs)
(Meant to say "two" shows)

Led Zeppelin - Earl's Court May 24, 1975
"The most famous of the five nights at Earls Court, largely because it has long been available in a near complete soundboard recording. The many releases used a combination of the video soundtrack and a proper soundboard source tape. However this was incomplete, running for only 180 minutes. Several years ago Celebration released the 4CD Odysseus, which should and could have been much better. More soundboard tape was used (in Dazed and Confused and for Moby Dick), but there were still gaps in the acoustic section which should have been filled by the audience source. Recently however even more of the soundboard source tape appeared, and this was used by Watch Tower for their 4CD release To Be A Rock And Not To Roll. The gaps were carefully filled with an excellent audience tape. Unfortunately, like so many of Watch Tower's releases, this was again spoilt by numerous digital 'clicks' and 'ticks'. Empress Valley rush released the 4CD He Must Be Dazed And Confused to counteract this. The sound quality is similar to Watch Tower, perhaps a very small improvement, but the big gain is in the strength of Robert Plant's voice, which is much louder and clearer in this new version. Again the gaps have been filled with an excellent audience tape."

"This release is undoubtably the most important and exciting release of an Earls Court concert for a very long time. A virtually complete soundboard source tape has been discovered, and used to dramatic effect. In fact the sound quality rivals the previous night, it is simply superb. Again the gaps have been filled with the audience tape (the end of No Quarter and parts of the acoustic section are missing from the soundboard and have been filled with the audience recording). Thank goodness Empress Valley did not repeate their complete howler as they did for the New York 29th July 1973 soundboard release (Grand Finale), by using the previous night's soundboard to fill the gaps. Therefore this last night, all 222 minutes of it, is destined to become a classic, much sought after by fans. Wishing to capitalize on this Empress Valley subsequently released the last night as a seperate 4CD set called The Zeppelin Express Physical Rocket."

Great DVD by Empress Valley.  For the most part the picture is sharper and clearer than other releases including Heavy Metal Kids.  This is not a re-make of Heavy Metal Kids….the two disc DVD is available in normal NTSC DVD and a non-pressed Blu Ray version.  The most noticeable improvement is with Tangerine - complete and sharp - no cuts of any kind.  Very nice to have a new DVD in what has been a rather boring year - this definetly will make some noise.

Led Zeppelin - Over America 1977 (DVD 1 - Repost)

Led Zeppelin - Over America 1977 (DVD 1)
Cosmic Energy

This is the DVD 1 of the Cosmic Energy release of all of the 16 and 19 mm footage in circulation at the moment. Lots of people are hunting down a working DVD 2 at the moment so please be patient and i'll get it up here as soon as.
Quality varies a great deal, most is great with clear visual and synced audio some is silent but as a document this stands well above any other releases i've seen. No song separation, only chapters.
Animated great menu.
Best quality i have ever seen of these 8mm footage

Big download so be sure.
3,59 GB

DVD 1

Old Grey Whistle Test (11-02-76)
This interview with Robert Plant and band manager Peter Grant was uniquely conducted during a
boat-trip down the famous Thames River.

Chicago Illinois (04-09-77)
The fifth night of the tour. Page fails ill stopping the concert. Close but blurry footage with actual
sound. Well worth watching for historic purposes. Listen as Plant explains to a beffudled audience why they are stopping the show early.

Chicago Illinois (04-10-77)
Page is captured with his famous "stormtrooper" outfit. Full stage shot with synchronized sound makes it very pleasurable to watch.

Birmingham Alabama (05-18-77)
A hight commodity video back in the mid 1980s. Footage with actual sound filmed stage left.

Baton Rouge Louisiana - Silent footage (05-19-77)
Arguably the best document of the band from this tour. Silent footage with fantastic stage shots. Also includes footage of the "Starship" arriving at the airport and the band is seen shuffling out. This film was unfortunately dirty or damaged when processed leaving a swarm of particles  on the transfer, most noticeably during the brighter moments of the footage.

Comment:
"A really superb show from the 1975 Tour. The sound is great and the playing is excellent. Robert is in decent voice and the band is on a roll! No Quarter and Dazed And Confused are some of the best versions ever, and the opening numbers are really powerful. The earlier shows on the tour like the New York shows were long, but the marathons were generally played at 1973 length (No Quarter never exceeding twenty minutes, Dazed never exceeding thirty).
In the west coast shows Zeppelin expands the numbers to where a thirty-minute No Quarter and a forty-minute Dazed And Confused are routine. More highlights include something happening onstage after Bonham’s drum solo, which causes Plant to start singing lines from Max Bygraves’ “You’re A Pink Toothbrush”. This song is nothing more than Plant singing what appears to be a commercial jingle. It has only 10 seconds but it’s funny! This soundboard version has just surfaced and, a big thank you to Lincoln Park Mark, who is quick off the mark, for sharing the tracks.(bigozine)

Led Zeppelin - 1980-06-23 - Bremen, Germany
Stadthalle, Bremen
Soundboard

Plant barks aggressively as the band races through an explosive Train Kept a Rollin'.
Bonzo forgets some of the breaks during Nobody's Fault But Mine, robbing the song of its dynamic tension. Plant's voice is a bit rough during In the Evening, he has trouble reaching some of the higher notes. The Rain Song is fantastic. As the song ends, Plant attempts to calm the rowdy crowd so Bonzo can introduce Hot Dog. Following All My Love, Plant announces "this is one we must dedicate to Phil Carson of Atlantic Records who, if he doesn't get his shit together shortly, will be... Trampled Underfoot." Bonzo mistakenly plays through the break following the guitar solo. Plant asks the crowd to stop pushing forward prior to a lackluster Since I've Been Loving You. As the song comes to a close, Bonzo can be heard shouting "be quiet, you cunt!" at the impatient crowd. The band plods through an uninspired Achilles Last Stand. Page gets a bit lost in the arrangement toward the end of the song. Plant delivers a powerful performance during Kashmir. Stairway to Heaven features an excellent guitar solo. Bonzo fumbles through the drum outburst at the end of Rock and Roll. The band closes the show with a violent Communication Breakdown. As the song ends, Plant announces "thank you, it's nice to be... back, goodnight." A rather uninspired performance overall.

The tape is another excellent soundboard recording, briefly augmented by a fairly clear audience source.

In my humble opinion.. this is the best "Bootleg" version of this show. There has been some discussion on various sites what Analog Generation EVSD used for their version. I don't Know what they used, Ive seen on a couple of sites 11th Gen & Unknown Gen. Maybe thats why they called it "The Battle of Baton Rouge". For those who would like to compare, and With Freezers consent I've added the two samplers Freezer has circulated of this show from his master cassettes. ("Winston").

Led Zeppelin - 1980-07-03 - Mannheim, Germany - REPOST

Led Zeppelin - 1980-07-03 - Mannheim, Germany
Soundboard
Eisstadion, Mannheim, Germany

For European heavy metal and hard rock fans, the summer of 1980 marked the end of an era - for it was that summer that Led Zeppelin embarked on what would end up being its final tour of Europe. Countless bootlegs resulted from that tour; one of the better sounding is The Last Day in Mannheim, which was recorded from the soundboard at the Eisstadion in Mannheim, Germany, on July 3, 1980 - only about two and a half months before John Bonham's substance-related death on September 25 of that year.
This double-CD offers generally good sound quality (except for some occasional static), and the British metallers are in good to excellent form on songs from In Through the Out Door (including "Hot Dog," "In the Evening," and "All My Love") as well as scorchers that range from "Black Dog," "Trampled Under Foot," and "Nobody's Fault But Mine" to "Communication Breakdown" and "Rock and Roll." On previous tours, Zeppelin could be long-winded at times, but you won't find any half-hour
versions of "Dazed and Confused" or "No Quarter" on this bootleg. The longest performances (which include "Kashmir," "Achille's Last Stand," and the overexposed "Stairway to Heaven") clock in at around ten or 11 minutes, and Zeppelin doesn't get into a lot of extended jams. All things considered, The Last Day in Mannheim paints an exciting, if imperfect, picture of Zeppelin's final months. (Alex Henderson, All Music Guide)

Led Zeppelin - 1975-03-11 - Long Beach, CA - REPOST

Led Zeppelin - 1975-03-11 - Long Beach, CA
Very good soundboard.
Long Beach Californication bootleg
3 CDs
Live at the Civic Arena, Long Beach, CA

This show has been circulating as a very good audience recording for a while, thanks to the efforts by the legendary Mike Millard. Now Empress Valley has unveiled a soundboard recording of the show. This is what the Underground Uprising Led Zeppelin website (www.uuweb.led-zeppelin.us) noted: “While an excellent audience recording may better capture how the band overall was actually heard in the venue, a soundboard recording better captures how the band members did perform (and enjoy or struggle) on stage. The rule also applies to this release.
For instance, it more clearly and vividly captures how Bonzo played his drum kits and yelled on stage. “Although the tape is slightly distorted at the beginning, there is no noticeable hiss noise in the new soundboard, except that there is a very noticeable digital error at the end of Moby Dick. Accordingly, it could overall be deemed as one of the best and most well-balanced soundboard recordings from the band’s ‘75 shows. (Incidentally, in this title, EV elected to use the Millard tape at the beginning of CD1 in order especially to include the famous exciting opening announcement of “The American Return of Led Zeppelin!”.)
“In the latter half of the show, the band in fact played very well, even better than on 12 March [click here] in some places. For instance, Dazed And Confused is spectacular from ‘75 standard and Stairway To Heaven is flawless and gutsy. Jimmy also played better in the funcky section in Whole Lotta Love than on the following day.”
