Hina Rabbani Khar would not like to be depicted as Fashion Icon

Pakistan's youngest foreign minister Hina made a style-statement with her three-day visit to India. Hina Rabbani Khar, aged just 34, is the first woman to be appointed foreign minister of Pakistan.

Hina, who was only appointed recently after serving as a junior foreign minister since February, has become the face of Pakistani diplomacy at a critical time, despite questions over her youth and inexperience.

Pakistan's youngest foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar might have held the Indian media in thrall with her precious South Sea pearls, Roberto Cavalli shades and Birkin bag, but the media spotlight on her style and fashion statements left her incandescent with rage.

Hina, a headscarf-wearing mother of two daughters, is inevitably compared to Benazir Bhutto, the charismatic female prime minister of Pakistan who was assassinated when trying to regain power in 2007. She reacted angrily to questions pertaining to coverage of her fashion style in leading Indian dailies.

"You see paparazzi are every where. Besides, you (referring to media) should not do such acts," Ms. Khar said, replying to a question at the Lahore airport on her arrival from India.

So irked was she at the question that she refused to take any more questions and left for Islamabad.

During her visit to New Delhi, she was the talk of the town, with the media closely following her fashion accessories.

With the media spotlight focused on her fashion accessories during her recent trip to India, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar wonders whether a man in her position would have attracted similar attention.

The 34-year-old is quite a style icon back in her own country, reveal Pakistan’s noted fashion designers.

The Twitter world reacted strongly to the 34-year-old's upmarket dressing. Some, including actress Gul Panag, gave it a thumbs up, while others questioned the viability of flaunting expensive brands.

Krittika Biswas seeks help from Hillary Clinton

Ravi Batra has a point to make and he won’t rest until he has made it. The Manhattan lawyer represented Krittika Biswas, the 18-year-old honour student and daughter of vice consul Debashish Biswas, falsely accused of sending two obscene e-mails when she was not near a computer.

Ravi Batra, lawyer of Krittika Biswas, writes to Hillary Clinton. He says the US Secretary of State must clarify Krittika's status under the Vienna Convention.

"She (Clinton) has an obvious right and power to be involved in a matter where there is obvious misconstruction of the Vienna Convention," Ravi Batra, the lawyer in the Krittika Biswas case, told PTI, referring to the agreement that governs consular relations between countries.

"She understands national security interest and public safety and there is a certain courtesy extended among nations," he said.

18-year-old Krittika Biswas, who was accused of sending obscene emails to her teacher, is suing the New York City government for USD 1.5 million.

After her arrest and suspension from school, the real culprit was found. Krittika claims she was handcuffed and led out of school on February 8.

Low-income women die more of alcohol abuse

Women in low-income job roles are almost six times as likely to die from alcohol abuse as those in higher paid employment, according to new UK government research.

Research from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed that working class women are 5. 7 times more likely to contract liver disease than doctors or lawyers, the Daily Mail reports.

The findings have emerged despite the fact that previous research found that women in professional job roles consume more alcohol in an average week.

They are drinking an average of 10.2 units a week - more than a bottle of wine - compared with 6.5 units for manual workers.

Mums of twins may live longer

Women who have twins tend to be healthier and longer-living than average, a study has found. They also appear to be more fertile, with a longer reproductive age and a greater likelihood of giving birth.
Mothers of twins may live longer
Pick just an average passerby and more often than not when the topic of discussion is health, longevity surely finds a mention. The latest study to have pinned down on this factor is rather interesting.

With twice as many dirty nappies and double the number of feeds, it is easy for mothers of twins to envy those who just have one baby to bring up at a time.

But all their hard work could bring an unexpected reward, with a study concluding that women who have twins outlive other mothers.

The findings do not mean having twins is healthy for women, but instead that healthier women have an increased chance of delivering twins, says demographer Ken. R. Smith, senior author of the study.

"Having twins will not make you stronger or healthier, but stronger, healthier women are more likely to have twins naturally," says Shannen Robson, the study's first author.

So rather than directly playing a role in longevity, having twins may be a marker of some yet unknown factor that leads to long life. "It's not that you can go out and have twins in order to live longer," says Smith. "It's more that twinning is a reflection of an innate feature that we can't yet identify that leads to longer life."

Does this matter to women who may not have twins, or to men? Yes, says Smith. If you're interested in whether long life is in your genes, you can look into your family tree for any history of twins. "Twinning may be a part of the longevity recipe that people might want to know," says Smith. Long live twins!

Milk Allergy(dairy intolerance) in babies

A person of any age can have a milk allergy, but it's more common among infants (about 2% to 3% of babies), though most outgrow it. If you think that your child has a milk allergy, talk with your doctor about testing and alternatives to milk-based formulas and dairy products.

A milk allergy is not the same thing as lactose intolerance, the inability to digest the sugar lactose, which is rare in infants and more common among older kids and adults.

Dairy Intolerance Symptoms

Your baby or infant may be having one or more of the following symptoms:

* colicky
* showing signs of reflux
* is unsettled and unable to sleep
* prone to crying fits
* is not putting on weight
* has excessive wind
* stomach pain
* loose stools
* frequently vomits up whole feeds
* diarrhea
* runny, green stools
* raised red blotches on the skin (hives)

Avoiding Pregnancy

The subject of how to avoid pregnancy has many myths, old wives tales and falsehoods attached to it. Pregnancy myths may vary from generation to generation and from region to region.

Science and education have done much to debunk many pregnancy myths. However, many myths are still handed down from generation to generation.

After all, if you don't want to get pregnant and spend the years caring for someone else, then why take needless risks or listen to age old stories from back when people didn't really understand how pregnancy happened?

How to Avoid Pregnancy If You Don't Want to Get Pregnant

No Sex Full Stop - this is an option that many young women are taking nowadays and is a wise and admirable option, but it's not for everyone. Young people are especially keen to find out about their sexuality and it's a normal and natural impulse to want to explore this new world of desire and passion and to find out what our grown up bodies can do. It's got to be said though that no sex = no pregnancy and it is the most surefire way of not becoming pregnant.
