"Section 204 center. Great show with energetic crowd. Geddy still hitting the high notes. First time at Concord Pavilion, which is kind of a shit hole with poor design and not very loud.
Must be some sort of noise ordinance preventing a decent volume.  Makes the cheering of those around me more irritating, but overall still a very clear recording. My subjective rating: B".

Comment:
Second leg shows at the Concord Pavillion are always Rush at their best and tonight was no exception. Camera Eye and Presto were my personal favorites. The drum solo was also really a stand out. Peart is really mixing it up these days and tonight just sounded really different and more complex than anything I have heard him do in the 15 or so shows I have seen over the last 25 years. Geddy says the new album will be out around Christmas...Can hardly wait.
Thanks again gentlemen for another unforgettable 3-hours of great music.

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Finnish handset major Nokia has introduced its two new smartphones in the Indian market and both the handsets run on the Symbian Anna platform, a new update of the Symbian platform.

The devices launched today, Nokia E6 and Nokia X7, are priced at Rs. 18,679 and Rs. 22,829 respectively, said the Nokia executives. However, the Nokia website has a recommended price of Rs. 17,999 and Rs. 21,999 respectively for E6 and X7.

At the launch function here, Nokia said the company would continue to support Symbian Anna till 2016. The company has already tied up with Microsoft for its Windows Phone 7.

Viral Oza, director of marketing at Nokia India said that Symbian Anna offers a renewed user experience and has rich and sharper icons with improved text input. The company said that the Symbian Anna can be downloaded on three existing Symbian smartphones from September, 2011 onwards for free.

“With these two new devices on exciting Symbian Anna, we aim to further consolidate our leadership position in the Indian smartphone market,” he said. Oza also informed that the company will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with new Symbian Anna software from July.

Since the past 2 weeks Nokia has been all over the news, and for the right reasons. The company launched its flagship handset, the N9 less than a week ago. The Finnish manufacturer continued to stay in the news with the launch of the N950, the unexpected leak of the Sea Ray and the N5. Now, it's time for something official. The Nokia X7 which will be the manufacturer's second known Symbian Anna handset after the E6, has now been launched in the country. Nokia quotes the price of the device as Rs 21,999.

The X7 will feature a large 4" AMOLED capacitive display with a pixel dimensions of 360x640, an 8 MP camera capable of recording 720p videos, and a 680 MHz CPU among others. The Symbian Anna operating system is said to bring some improvements to the platform, with a revamped web browser, and a better looking user interface. The X7 will come with an 8 GB microSD card and 320 MB of internal storage. The smartphone has been called by Nokia as a high definition gaming device, so we won't be surprised to see some games coming pre-loaded with the handset. It seems like most of the features of the X7 rely heavily on the Symbian Anna platform. In the processing department, Nokia is stuck with the same 680 MHz ARM chipset, we saw in the N8 and other Symbian^3 smartphones. A processor upgrade would've have been very welcome.

The Nokia X7 seems like a worthy competitor to the N8, and we say that only because of the new OS and not in any other aspect. Priced at almost Rs 22,000, we think the X7 is a tad overpriced. Nevertheless, the newest version of Symbian comes with a price tag. As far as the usability of the device is concerned, we don't think that the buyers will be disappointed. Both the Nokia E6 business and Nokia X7-00 entertainment phones are expected very soon in India, before the end of June, or Q2 2011, and will arrive featuring Symbian Anna onboard. For now, estimated pricing is still based on the European MSRPs, with 380 euros or roughly Rs. 25,000 for the X7, and 345 euros or roughly Rs. 22,000 for the E6. Hopefully of course, Nokia will realise the current market conditions, and price them quite a bit lower than this. We won’t be too surprised if they don’t listen, of course. The Nokia E6 has a few things going for it – a Touch and Type style of touchscreen and keypad, a brilliant 2.46-inch screen that squeezes 640x480 pixels (at a iPhone 4-beating 326ppi), 8GB inbuilt storage, and a QWERTY keypad design that has its roots in the capable E72. No processor details are available yet. Business features include Microsoft Mail for Exchange, Communicator Mobile and SharePoint. The E6 will apparently deliver up to 14.8 hours of talk time, and nearly a month of standby time. It comes with an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and an EDoF sensor – the same as the E7 and X7, capable of 720p HD video recording at 25 fps. Pricing of this phone will be very important, as its form factor and predecessors have all been especially popular in India.

The Nokia X7 will have a harder time justifying its price, unless it is much cheaper than the N8, and close enough to the C7. An entertainment phone with a large 4-inch 360x640 ClearBlack Display, it comes with the same 8MP EDoF camera as the Nokia E6 and E7, and the same 680 MHz ARM 11 with Broadcom BCM2727 GPU as the Nokia N8 and E7. Football: Plot thickens for mysterious Yeung

HONG KONG - Carson Yeung's rise from poverty in Hong Kong to millionaire Birmingham City owner is as fascinating as it is mysterious, but money-laundering charges have put him under fresh scrutiny.

The 51-year-old Yeung, who cuts a dapper figure in designer clothes and smartly cropped black hair, often accompanied by his glamorous young wife, was so poor as a child that he could not afford to go to football games.

But Yeung, who reportedly trained as a hairdresser before making a fortune in penny stocks, paid 81 million pounds ($130 million) to take over Birmingham in 2009, amid a rush of Asian investment into the English Premier League.

"I have loved football since I was a child. My family were very poor and we didn't have any money to see the football games, but I loved the sport," he told Birmingham City's website, www.bcfc.com, in 2007.

"I think football should be for everybody, not just the rich man."

On Thursday, a sombre-looking Yeung appeared in a Hong Kong court, a day after his arrest by narcotics police on charges of "dealing with property known or believed to represent proceeds of an indictable offence".

Despite winning this year's League Cup, Birmingham have struggled with debts and in May, Yeung's Birmingham International Holdings raised extra cash through a share issue which diluted his stake to 23.3 percent.

But the club's plight worsened when they were relegated from the lucrative Premier League on the last day of the season, and later lost their manager Alex McLeish.

Forbes Asia magazine has questioned the finances behind Birmingham, claiming Yeung was evasive about his business interests and was borrowing money against property he owns to help meet club liabilities.

In 2009, not long after his takeover, a senior Birmingham official denied Yeung was a "front man" when a portion of his stake was bought by two companies registered in the British Virgin Islands, according to British media.

Asked last year if he was "filthy rich", Yeung, who has a teenage son named Ryan - after Manchester United's Ryan Giggs - was unfazed.

"I'm rich enough to have a company that buys a football club for 81 million pounds. And to buy a house in London, my second home," he said, during a rare interview.

Yeung has maintained a low profile even after he emerged from obscurity in July 2007 to seize a 30 percent stake in Birmingham City, and announced his intention to take over the club.

His name had first appeared on the Hong Kong stock exchange's record books just a month earlier, when he bought a 16.67 percent stake in clothes company Grandtop International.

Media reports described how Yeung made his first fortune on cheap stocks, then increased his earnings by co-founding Greek Mythology, a casino in Asian gambling haven Macau, in 2004.

Other interests include Hong Kong's Sing Pao newspaper and investments in "energy, water, property, a range of businesses", according to the tycoon.

Yeung was formerly chairman of Hong Kong's Rangers Football Club but was criticised by ex-coach Tim Bredbury who accused him of interfering in the selection of players.

In 2004, he was prosecuted by Hong Kong's financial regulator for failing to disclose his holdings in a company, but was only ordered to pay a small fine.

Yeung says it was for the love of football - as well as the enormous market potential in China - that he decided to buy into Birmingham City.

"The people in China are crazy about the English Premier League. There is a massive market out there. I want to take the name of Birmingham City to a worldwide audience," Yeung told www.bcfc.com.

Last year Yeung sent the team on a tour of Hong Kong and China, in a trip whose itinerary and conditions reportedly prompted much grumbling among players.

In January, Birmingham International Holdings announced plans to pay Yeung up to $200 million for a plot of industrial land in northeastern China, with the aim of developing a British-themed community. Read More

Any Singapore observer would agree, despite all the embellishments in the state controlled press to make it look pretty, the island today is not only in a very bad shape, it is on a tailspin of decline with any recovery impossible.

For a crowded island of about 3 million native born and another 2 million principally Mandarin speaking Chinese from their Communist country, you already have massive brain drain of locals of as many as 1,000 per year. The rate of marriage has dropped below what it was even in 2009 and is the lowest, the birth rate is even lower than what it was in 2005 and declining further and suicides are at the highest. Foreign permanent residents have angered the Minister Mentor because they refuse to have families in Singapore, and has threatened to revoke their permanent residencies.

You don't need to have a PhD to know the reasons for a seemingly successful nation state to suffer from these happenings. It is because Lee Kuan Yew has failed to understand you cannot make a nation out of minions and secondly, you cannot do it through fear either.

By his own admission Lee has told us that if he was not feared he is nothing. In other words he needs you to be afraid and submit to him. Fear never produced the best results from anyone. Teachers who are afraid never taught well, lawyers who were afraid never were good lawyers and the same with every other occupation. You never got the best through fear, not in Singapore nor in Nazi Germany either.

Second minions as he is surrounded with never made good leaders. Teo Chee Hean, his deputy, is not primarily working for the best of the nation. He is working first to protect his patronage from his master Lee Kuan Yew for the millions he receives and only second does he care for anyone else. It is the same with all the other bootlickers, K Shanmugam his Minister of for Law, Vivian Balakrishnan, who is responsible for the flooding in the island state and the same with his other disgraceful characters.

On the other hand Chee Soon Juan, the opposition politician who has been jailed and bankrupted by Lee Kuan Yew fights for his people. For him demonstrably Singaporeans come first and not his pocket. What Lee needs are men like Chee Soon Juan, true sons of Singapore who will do good for Singpaore, not these butt kissers and bootlickers that Lee Kuan Yew has with him.

Is it too late for Lee Kuan Yew to reverse the damage? Yes it is too late. Civic responsibility is not something you can turn on and off as you please. Singaporeans today are tired of his policies, 52 years of it, that they have switched off completely. Today even if he tried, he is not going to get them out of their indifference and apathy. Remember the 2 child policy of the past. It was wrong. And today regardless of how much he tries there are no children.

Lee Kuan Yew is like a VFR pilot who has flown into the clouds when he should not. Now he is flying blind, lost his bearings and the visibility is getting worse. Either he is going to run into a hillside and crash or he is going to run out of fuel. Either way, it is the end for him and Singapore.
