The World Wide Web (WWW) will soon emerge as an agent of societal transformation by connecting the rural masses with the outside world thanks to new mobile technology, former president said in Hyderabad on Wednesday (30-Mar-2011).

"The WWW community should now focus on developing technologies that can provide useful information to the masses on mobile platform using the latest 3G and 4G technologies. The world community is looking for a mobile device that can provide integrated solutions of 3G or 4G applications to people in their mother tongues," said Kalam while delivering the keynote address at the inaugural session of the 20th International World Wide Web conference.

"The future of the web is going to shift from connecting the corporates to connecting the individuals in the rural societies," Kalam said.
