Anushka Sharma's baggage verified at Mumbai airport | Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma


Mumbai: Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who was reportedly held by the custom officials at Mumbai airport for not paying customs duty for the gold and diamond studded jewelry that she was carrying, has been given a clean chit. The newbie, who was returning from Toronto after attending the recently concluded 12th edition of the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) got delayed with her customs formality and was not being interrogated as reported earlier.

"She was not detained. She claimed that she was carrying some watches and jewelry, so we were verifying that. So, she was delayed at the airport," a customs official confirmed to reporters.

Anushka’s spokesperson said, “Anushka is not being interrogated by customs. She was carrying various accessories that were given by various brands to her. Anushka is only at the customs only to sign the formal paperwork for the borrowed accessories.”
She is not the first actress to make headlines with respect to carrying jewelry at the airport. Minissha Lamba was recently held at the Mumbai airport on her return from Cannes International Film Festival.
